HELLLLLOOOOOOOO Family,
This week has been a wonderful week. We were able to teach some pretty awesome lessons. Some of the people we teach i really dont understand them. One minute they will listen to us and everything we say and the next day they will run away from us. Its really hard to get some of them to pray about what we have taught them. They can see that are message is true and that the book of Mormon is true but they need to know through the divine witness called the Holy Ghost. That the only way that they will be truly converted. Sometimes we just want to pray for them. They don't really understand the concept of prayer. That it is a two way communication between us and our heavenly father.
Anyways Elder Kouao and i are just loving the work. Im learning how to teach so that the people understand me when i talk. When we teach about Chasity we say its "don't do mama and papa business til your married." If you say anything else they wont really understand. So im learning small small. I feel like in other missions you get smarter, trying to learn a language and stuff but here i'm really trying to get dumber. So when i come back home i might have to take a semester or two off just trying to learn good good English again.
I think something that might help me is memorizing things like Scripture masteries. For all those seminary students who plan on serving a mission, which should be everyone, learn and memorize your scripture masterys. So would you mind sending me them for all four books (new testament, old testament, bom, d&c) Thank you so much. This will help me so much. I'm learning the Articles of Faith again small small. Dont plan on me becoming a scriptorium though. Sorry ya.
The people here are so wonderful. They really feed us too much, as in if you eat there food more then twice a week your new companion is going to be the bathroom. I am starting to get use to the spiciness of the food just my stomach isn't yet. Maybe in two years i can eat like a Liberian for true. Not gonna lie hearing about going to BWW makes me really kinda jealous i would love for some good meat, thats not crappy fish. Also a salad would be wonderful. sorry mom i think im becoming vegetable deprived. Unless you count Pepea as a vegetable. Cause i get plenty of that.
This week is looking like its going to be a great one, We are having another Zone Conference on Tuesday and i am healthy enough to listen this time. Also this sunday is missionary Sunday where between the full time missionaries and branch missionaries we do everything. So i am giving a 20 min talk and two lessons. But it will be good cause we will actually prepare for it. And not preach False doctrine. The mission president is really hoping that it will improve retention and reactivation in our branch.
Before i end i just have to tell you about going into town last week. I found myself in the shampoo isle smell different shampoos and conditioners. Weird i know but when i go into the store its like i immediately go into a coma. But its good to see a real store now and again. Keeps me sain.
I love you all very much and love to here from everyone. Please keep sending letters they really brighten up my day and Dear elders are wonderful as well. The other packages havnt come yet but im sure they will. If there was anything i could ask for is good Chocolate and Hi-Chews. Im craving them and they are so good. If you could send a ton of Hi chews (cantalope) and Chocolate very good chocolate. Thank you so much for your support, im really tiring to sprint throughout my mission.
Love

Hello Mother,
First off I GOT TWO PACKAGES!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo Thank you SOOOO much!! I loved the Nutella and pictures and the candy and oh man just thankyou. Thank you thank you thank you. I do hope i will get the other two but you just dont know out here. Also do you think you can send some of Brooklyn's Fudge here???;)
This week has been a great week. Starting off with Tuesday or New Years. I'm glad its not new years everyday. Our investigators fed us at every lesson we went to. Usually it is super sweet to get a meal throughout the day but when its every lesson its a problem. Anyways we have to finish everything they give us or they are almost offended. Even if we leave too much bone they get somewhat offended. We had 5 meals in about 5 hours. All full of Pepea. To say the least i didn't sleep to well that night and the next morning my stomach was aching. I feel sorry for some of those missionaries who have two or three dinner appointments a night. Plus i wouldn't be able to keep down the weight.
Speaking of investigators so The man Damo who came to church last week really isn't doing the best now. This week we came to teach him and to help him understand the importance of baptism and at the end of the lesson as i was bearing my testimony he totally denied my testimony. He said how can there only be one true church and blah blah blah. I was so shocked that he insulted me like that. Elder Kouao thankfully saw how almost mad i was and continued to tell him, you cant deny someone of there own testimony. Needlesstosay Damo has a long way to go before he can be baptized.
The rest of the week has been pretty normal just working very hard to convert Liberians. Elder Pentreath and I really want Elder kouao to write a book on his life. He really is a miracle and he has done so many things that i cant even begin to comprehend with my sheltered Mormon mind. He is an example to me that anybody can change if you give them the chance. He is going to write it with the church involved so he can try to sell it to desert book. Truly an amazing guy.
I am sorry to here about Brother Roberts and Brother Marks sister. Please send my condolences to there families. Teaching about the Plan of Salvation here is comforting to me because i know we will be able to see each other again after this life. I know that our heavenly Father knows and loves each and every one of us.
Yesterday was elder Humphery's birthday so we decided to have a feast. We all Pitched in 5 U.S. dollars and got two hamburgers, french fries, a piece of chicken, cake and sparkling cider. The craziest part was making it all on a propane stove and none of us really know how to cook. Its was quite an adventure trying to cook the burgers through with out burning them. Thats why we bless it before we eat it. I will print some pictures of it and send them home. Definitely the birthday i wanna have.
Well I have to go because we are going into town again today. Wonder what adventures we will have today. I love you all very much and please write to me all the time. Please write in pen too cause the pencil it can fade.
Love you lots and enjoy this new year.
